Alice in Wonderland was probably the best movie I ever worked on. I came away from that feeling so confident.
All of the AM Projects music is written by us! Other people don't write it for us which makes us even more awesome because we really are musicians.
Americans are so laid back and slouchy, but in Victorian England, little girls were brought up by duchesses who pestered them about correct speech and walk and manners.
As long as I still love it and I'm still having fun acting that's all that matters.
Everyone has been great, but even when you’re famous it’s hard to get work, so you can imagine. Things that are worth it take work and patience and those are two strengths you have to have to survive in such an intense business.
Getting the opportunity to work with Rob Thomas was awesome. I've known him since I was 14 and I've wanted to work with him for so long. When Veronica [Mars] came up I was honoured that Rob asked me to be apart of it. Not only is the show smart but also it is a lot of fun to work on.
Growing up in general is difficult for everyone. Ordinarily during the stage of your life when you're going through your adolescence and you're completely awkward and uncomfortable, the rest of the world isn't watching you with bated breath. It's different when you're an actor and you choose to work your way through that period because it only makes it worse.
I chose to have the childhood that I had. I was not pushed into the business by anything other than my own ambition and my own dream of wanting to act. And I think that even though I don't have a bunch of cool stories about those great proms, I have great stories of my own about places that I've gone to that a lot of people have never gotten to go to. I'm so grateful for the experiences I've had. I've had great opportunities, and have met great people. I'm completely satisfied with how I grew up and the choices I made.
I definitely didn't know that Napoleon [Dynamite] would blow up like it did. I just signed on to do it because I thought it was funny. My family didn't think the script was funny at all but I loved it and after they saw it they got why I wanted to do it. The characters are very genuine and sweet and it has such great messages in it too. And besides that, it's got the best one-liners of all time.
I didn't read the Alice In Wonderland script until I got to England. And we began shooting immediately, plus I had a great cultural shock when I got there.
